SITE LAYOUT (SL 5%):
- This design is used for client review, bidding, preliminary utility application, property owner approval (secure land lease for utility-scale project), rooftop or carport coverage area in C&I projects, project development, and financial modeling.
- This deliverable will include a preliminary layout for PV module installation. The main scope of this work is to estimate installation capacity in the allocated land, rooftop, or parking area.
- Tables will include a general summary of the project (Modules, Inverters, AC and DC size) to be read quickly by a reviewer or developer, as shown in the template layout. A schematic drawing of the racking system will also be included.
- This deliverable will not include below items:
a. inverters distribution,
b. string configuration,
c. DC or AC conductors routing consideration,
d. POC/POCC or switchgear location,
e. Pathway or access road layout,
ENERGY MODELING (EM 10%):
- This deliverable enables us to determine, simulate, and analyze the performance of solar systems, allowing the design team to calculate the energy yield of solar plants.
- Deliverables will include the overall site plan, module placement, layout, inverter, and transformer locations.
INTERCONNECTION DESIGN (IC 15%):
- This design is preliminary used for utility company pre-approval for intent to connect to the POI location.
- It can also ensure that clients and engineering firms are on the same page before proceeding further into engineering.
- We can include utility company-requested warning labels.
- The design does not include cable and conduit sizes, short circuit calculations, AF label calculations, or energy modeling (PVSyst, Helioscope, etc.).
PROGRESS DESIGN I (PD I 30%):
- This design is used for utility approval, client review, securing loan, financial analysis, or property owner approval or AHJ approval.
- The design will include the access road, nearest utility point, project boundary, parcel boundary, row spacing, AC overall site plan, AC single line diagram, equipment specification, preliminary cable sizes only for main AC conductors, and label sheet.
- This design does not include conduit sizes at this stage! Cable sizes are only for preliminary without ampacity or grouping derating factors implemented.
PROGRESS DESIGN II (PD II 60%)
In addition to PD I 30%, we will add AC SLD and DC SLD. We may include preliminary conductor and conduit sizes based on preliminary lengths, ambient temperature, and bundling. We will also include typical string calculation and layout. At this stage, the given conductor and cable sizes are approximate.
ISSUED FOR PERMIT (IFP 90%)
This stage will include all the stages previously mentioned above and in addition
1- All conduit and cable sizes must be decided, and all VD calculations will be done and included.
- Grounding details for AC equipment are 100% done and included.
This design will contain sufficient details and data for AHJ to review, comment, and approve for electrical permitting.
ISSUED FOR CONSTRUCTION (IFC 100%)
Going from IFP 90% to IFC 100% will vary from project to project. The IFC stage may include the exact BOM from the equipment supplier, while 90% may only show generic BOM details and data sheets. However, at this stage, deliverables will include all AHJ, contractor, and owner comments and revisions, as well as equipment data sheets that are sure to be used for construction.
